Arche aid & relief
Bridging The Private And Humanitarian Sectors
The Aid & Relief sector is going through a storm: anticipated and effective donor aid reductions over the coming years leave humanitarian actors with a stark choice of reducing staff or scaling back assistance – even as needs mount.
Situation snapshot
- In 2025, 300 million people will require humanitarian assistance worth $47 billion in aid.
- In Q1 2025, USAID slashed over 80% of its contributions; Germany plans to cut humanitarian spending by over 50%.
- France has already reduced its development aid budget by €800 million with an additional 18% cut slated for 2025.
- The UK has lowered its ODA target from 0.5% to 0.3% of GDP; and Switzerland will cut CHF 400 million between 2025 and 2028.
- Under the UN’s “reset” agenda led by Tom Fletcher, many agencies have resorted to downsizing and office closures.
- New partnerships beyond traditional donors are essential—where private-sector approach helps bring efficiency into humanitarian operations to build financially sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable supply-chain solutions, the backbone of every Aid & Relief effort.

Humanitarian at heart

My name is Mara
I created Arche with the vision of bridging the private and humanitarian sectors.
I am a humanitarian at heart, with business acumen, extensive experience in supply chain (over 10 years in the UN, NGOs, and shipping), and a network spanning UN agencies, NGOs, and donors.
Having worked in the private sector, NGOs, and the UN—focusing on supply chain, shipping, and emergency response across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa—I have witnessed firsthand the need for strong collaboration between the private and humanitarian sectors to ensure efficient emergency response.
I am also committed to continuously improving operations, challenging existing processes, and bringing innovative solutions to the table—always mindful of the multiplier effect of every dollar saved. The sector is in crisis, the moment to think laterally and collaborate is now.
